As part of the ICJ Foundation’s ongoing efforts to support children through practical and sustainable initiatives, the organisation continues to equip young people with livestock management skills. This programme teaches children how to care for and raise animals responsibly, helping them develop long-term means of supporting their families. By raising goats, the children will one day be able to meet basic needs, such as clothing, shoes, and school materials, through the income generated from their livestock.
On Wednesday, the ICJ Foundation team visited the Ciya community, where eleven children received goats as special birthday gifts. This gesture aimed not only to celebrate their birthdays but also to give them a meaningful gift that would continue to bring lasting benefits to their lives. The joy and excitement among the children were evident as each proudly received their goat, a symbol of hope, responsibility, and empowerment for the future.

One of the Children, Ngendakumana Denise, expressed her heartfelt appreciation, saying:
“My name is Ngendakumana Denise, and I live in Ciya. We sincerely thank you for this gift. We never had a goat before, and we had no hope of ever owning one. Today, we are very grateful to the ICJ Foundation for providing us with these goats. They will greatly help us in many ways. We promise to take good care of them, to feed them well so that they can grow and multiply. Later, when we face challenges, such as needing shoes, we will be able to sell one of the goats to meet those needs. We are truly thankful. May God bless you abundantly.”
Through this activity, ICJ Foundation continues to fulfil its mission of helping communities find and follow Jesus through holistic ministry by addressing both the spiritual and physical needs of children and families.
